Thomas "Tommy" F. Hutto, 82, passed away on Thursday, June 13, 2013. A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, June 15, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Burial will be in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery with Father Allan McDonald officiating. The family will meet friends on Friday, June 14, 2013 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Civil War Trust, 1140 Professional Court, Hagerstown, MD, 21740.
Mr. Hutto was born in Crawford, County to the late John B. Gordon and Rosa Walker Hutto. He was preceded in death by his wives, Anne D. Hutto and Jeanette C. Hutto and five brothers and two sisters. Mr. Hutto served in the United States Coast Guard on the USCCG West Wind during the Korean Conflict. He was retired from Norfolk Southern Railroad as an engineer and was a member of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers for forty one years. Mr. Hutto was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and brother.
He is survived by his children; Steve (Mae-Ann) Hutto of Macon, Melody (Dennis) Ellis of Macon, Gordon Patrick (Terri) Hutto of Tallahassee, FL, stepchildren, Mark (Karen) Coleman of Flowery Branch, Ken (Linda) Coleman of Weaverville, NC, Valery C. (Tim) Moseley of Mt. City, GA, Scott (Flo) Coleman of Weaverville, NC, five grandchildren, Bryan Hutto, Zachary Hutto, Jennifer Jones Meyers, Benjamin VanCleave Hutto, John Patrick Hutto, four great grandchildren, Alex Dean Gazafy, Annabelle Gazafy, Layla Mae Meyers, Brayden Mark Hutto and sister, Gladys Hutto Malone of Macon and several nieces and nephews.
