Thomas Joseph McNeill, passed on from this life on June 22, 2013 in Ft. Myers, FL. Tommy was born in Manhattan, NY on December 29, 1928. He married the love of his life, Mary Ward, in the Bronx, NY on October 15, 1955. They moved to Uniondale, NY to raise their family and retired to Hampstead, NC. Tommy's children, Mary, Elizabeth and Arthur, have been a testament to his love and guidance. As his children married, he and Mary welcomed each one of their children's spouses, Ben Homola, Jim Bello, and Jeannine Walden McNeill, into the family as their own. Tommy demonstrated the power of unconditional love through his relationships with his six grandchildren, Jennifer Homola Bobeck (Daniel), Benjamin Homola, T.J. Bello, Victoria McNeill, Kenneth McNeill and Anna McNeill. He was the most loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend ever and we will miss him greatly. The family will be forever grateful to all those who have poured out their love and support throughout this difficult time. The greatest memorial to Tommy would be to love God as he did, journeying life with a deep and simple faith. It was that faith that carried him through all the trials and the joys of his life. Tommy always knew God was with him. Thomas was a merchant marine in the Korean War. Occupation was a Teamster foreman. Knights of Columbus, St. Jude the Apostle Council 12281 Hampstead, North Carolina. Thomas was also a Volunteer fireman for 20 years for the Uniondale Fire Department.
