PHILLIPS, THOMAS W., JR., of Florence, former resident of Birmingham passed away Friday, November 16, 2012, after an extended illness. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas W. Phillips, Sr. and Ruth Walton Phillips; sister, Bobbye Phillips Perry; and his wife, Fran Phillips. He was a member of Cloverdale Methodist Church. Pallbearers will be friends from his church family. Mr. Tom was a World War II veteran having served in the United States Air Force. He received several medals including two Purple Hearts for service to our country. There will be a graveside service at Forest Hill Cemetery at 1:00 Monday, November 19.
