Thomas John Stella, age 81 of Danbury died on Sunday June 8th at Bethel Healthcare Center. He was the husband of the late Mary Ann (Schoen) Stella.
Thomas was born January 23, 1933 in Scranton, PA, the son of the late Thomas U. and Anna (Mahalik) Stella. A resident of Danbury for over 70 years, he was a graduate of Saint Joseph Grammar School and Henry Abbott Technical School.
Thomas was a U.S. Navy veteran and was employed as a milk deliveryman with Marcus Dairy for 17 years. He later worked with the R.J. Gallagher Co. as a truck driver until the time of his retirement. Thomas was a parishioner of Saint Joseph Church, Danbury and in his spare time enjoyed both duckpin and ten pin bowling, as well as golf.
Thomas is survived by his two sons: John T. Stella and his wife Susan of Gridley, IL, and Jeffrey A. Stella of Southbury, and his two daughters: JoAnn S. Larnerd and her husband Ray of Sandy Hook, and Kathy LeClair of Danbury, 11 grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00am on Thursday June 12th in Saint Joseph Church, Danbury. Burial with military honors will be in Saint Peter Cemetery, Danbury. The family will receive friends at the Green Funeral Home 57 Main Street Danbury on Wednesday June 11th from 5 thru 8 pm.
