Tilford Lee Adams, 84, of Stanford, Indiana, passed away Thursday, September 22, 2011 at 10:00am at the Bloomington Hospital. A heart attack took him from this life to be with his Lord, Jesus. Born September 03, 1927 in Bloomington, Indiana to Carl and Mary (Bell) Adams.
He was married to his sweetheart Irene (Hawkins) Adams for 59 ½ years who survives him. He is also survived by a sister, Mary Jones of Shelbyville, Indiana; 2 sons; Greg (Paula) Adams, Mark (Jane) Adams; 4 grandsons; Jared (April) Adams, Josh (Brooke) Adams, Jacob (Leeza) Adams and Jonathan Adams and 4 great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, 5 brothers and 6 sisters.
Tilford served Jesus for 42 years and attended the Ellettsville Assembly of God Church. He also served in the Air force Ground Core.
He will be missed by a host of extended relatives and friends.
A Funeral service will be held at the Ellettsville Assembly of God Church on Tuesday, September 27, at 2:00pm. Burial will follow at the Greene County Chapel Cemetery. Friends may visit the family at Day Funeral Home on Monday, September 26 from 2pm-8pm.
