Tina Diane Boardman
April 2, 1946 -April 6, 2014
Tina was the daughter of Irving and Edith Bernstein, the loving sister of Lenny, Julie, and Gerry Bernstein, and the beloved mother of Albert Boardman.
A graduate of Brooklyn College, she earned a Master's degree in Special Education and a certificate in Educational Communication. She spent her career in the New York City public schools, retiring as a Special Education Resource Room Teacher at the Montauk Middle School. Both before and after her retirement, Tina lived her life with zest, flair, and energy. Always on the move, she was a world traveler who made many memorable journeys with her dear friends. She was also a devoted opera aficionado and spent countless evenings at the Met.
Tina was an inspiration and role model for her family and friends – a truly beautiful, selfless human being who put everyone else's needs ahead of her own. Her many nieces and nephews – and their children – all adored her, and she cared for them with generosity, devotion, and a huge heart. She was sensible, resilient, hard-working, fun-loving, and could always be counted on to lend a helping hand. She faced adversity and illness with courage, humility, and determination. She was the best friend anyone could ever have, and she is profoundly loved by all of us who will miss her so much.
