Suddenly at home on Monday, February 18th, 2013, in his 72nd year. Loving son of the late Anthony and Mechelina Van Hemmen. Dearly beloved husband of Lorraine (nee Biggar). Loving father of Susan (Robin), Steven, and Lori (Wayne). Cherished Grandpa of Miranda, Brendan, Trevor and Christal. Dear brother of Jane Hartjes (John), Maurice Van Hemmen (Coby), Andy Van Hemmen (Henny), Mitch Cusma (Vinnie), and predeceased by Tia Meulenbroeks (John), Peter Van Hemmen, and Teresa Van Hemmen. Survived by sister-in-law Carol Van Hemmen. Fondly remembered by Toni's mother-in-law Kay Biggar, brother-in-law Ed (Sherri), Bill (Helen). Predeceased by sister-in-law Bonnie Smith. Sadly missed by extended family in Canada and the Netherlands. Visitation will be held at the OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King Street West (905-721-1234) on Thursday, February 21st from 2 – 4 & 7 – 9 p.m. and on Friday, February 22nd from 10:00 a.m. until time of Funeral Service in the Chapel at 11:00 a.m. Memorial donations to the SickKids Foundation would be appreciated.
