Towanda Jeanette Norvell Barnett, 87, of Garfield, AR, went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, January 13, 2010.
Towanda was born October 23, 1922, in Lubbock, TX, to the late Reuben Norvell and Lillian Moore Norvell. She married Pershing Barnett on January 17, 1942.
Towanda, referred to by many as Sis Barnett, was a retired minister of the Pentecostal Church of God.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Pershing Barnett, her parents and one sister, Omega Belle Norvell.
Survivors include two sons, Charles Barnett and wife Darlene of Bella Vista and Jerry Barnett and wife Rosie of Normanna, TX; one daughter, Cherlene Artman and husband Rick of Springfield, MO; three brothers, Philip Norvell of San Antonio, TX, Kelly Norvell of Aransas Pass, TX and James Norvell of Garfield, AR; one sister, Carrie Nell Henry of Seadrift, TX; seven grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Friday, January 15, 2010, at Rollins Funeral Home.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 16, 2010, at the Rollins Funeral Home Chapel in Rogers.
Interment will follow at Ruddick Cemetery in Garfield.
