Mr. Troy Lee Curry, 88 of Thomasville died on Monday, November 4, 2013 at his residence.
Mr. Curry was born on March 9, 1925 in Davidson County to Willie L. and Mable L. Eddinger Curry. He was a World War II Veteran and served his country with the 508th Airborne Division that was attached to the 82nd Airborne Division. Troy (Chalkie) graduated from barber school in 1947. He was owner and operator of Piedmont Barber Shop, having worked there from 1949 until the age of 80. He had been a practicing barber for 58 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Doris Murphy Curry and a daughter Derree Beusse.
Surviving are a son Troy L. Curry Jr. and wife Shelley F. Curry, a son-in-law Carroll Beusse, a daughter-in-law Kay Curry, a brother James Curry, 5 grandchildren: Jane Evans, Jason Curry, Ann Centeno and husband Alex, Jannell Curry and Jenese Mesner and husband Jason, 4 great-grandchildren: Jocelyn and Sydney Evans, Brayden Curry and Oliver Mesner.
