V. P. Haran Iyer, 74, of Brandon, MS, passed away on Saturday, August 25, 2012. Visitation will be held Monday, August 27, 2012 from 5-8 pm at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl, MS.
He was born on January 28, 1938 in Secunderabad, India. He was preceded in death by his parents P.V. Iyer and Kamala Iyer; sister Padma Krishnamurthy; three nephews Asvalayan, Uday and Rahul; two nieces Surekha and Uttira; six brothers-in-law Krishnamurthy, Venkatsubbu, Mohite, Ramchander Row, Madhu and Nanda. He is survived by seven sisters (one brother-in-law), four brothers (three sisters-in-law), several nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews in U.S.A., India and U.K.
His wit, intelligence, generosity, love and commitment will be deeply missed by his large family.
Donations may be made in lieu of flowers to the Mississippi Sickle Cell Foundation and Children's Cancer Fund, the Iyer family's charities of choice.
