Valerie D. Lloyd Barbier died on Saturday July 2, 2011 at Paul's Run in Philadelphia, PA. Born in Philadelphia PA she was the daughter of the late Joseph A and Sarah Ann Moran Lloyd. She was 93 years of age. Valerie has been a resident of Paul's Run for three and half years; she had previously lived in the Pine Lake Gardens section of Stuart, FL for 24 years. Before moving to Florida, she had been a resident of Palmyra, NJ, and summered in Long Beach Island NJ.
Mrs. Barbier worked as a custom drapery operator. She was an avid reader. Valerie enjoyed cooking, baking, and crafting. She loved the beach; she was a skilled seamstress and enjoyed making clothing and knitting for her family.
When Valerie moved to Pine Lake Gardens she was very involved in the community. She was the leader of the water aerobics classes and was active bowling and swimming. Valerie enjoyed many of the communities' social activities including dancing. Mrs. Barbier was a Volunteer aid at the Martin Memorial Hospital for over ten years.
While living at Paul's Run she was an active volunteer at the Friends of Paul's Run Store and loved spending time with her new found friends. She was an active member of the Paul's Run Chapel and helped where needed.
Valerie was the devoted wife of Harry P. Barbier for over 46 years before his death in 2007. She was the beloved mother of Judy Denzler (and her late husband Edward F Denzler, Jr.). She was the loving grandmother of Edward F. Denzler, III and Eric R. Denzler; cherished great grandmother of Aileen Marie Denzler, Edward F. Denzler IV, and Trinity Rose Marie Denzler. She is also survived by her brother Robert Lloyd of Woodbury Heights NJ.
Friends and Family are invited to her Memorial Service Saturday July 9 at 11 AM at the Paul's Run Chapel; 9896 Bustleton Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19115.
She will be missed by all, her outgoing loving ways, cheerful laugh and great smile will never be forgotten and she will be in our hearts forever.
