I knew Vern for many years. I would see him sitting at "his table" eating the Princess Theatre popcorn. He always had a smile and a joke for me. Very sorry to hear of his passing.

I just learned of Vern 's passing. I worked with Vern many years ago in the plastic industry ,and we instantly became friends. Our friendship meant alot to me .
Vern was so very kind and I
loved his sense of humor. Running in to him on occasion around town was always nice. We kinda lost touch over the years but I always considered him a dear friend. You will be sadly missed old friend.

I knew Verne for many many years; he always held a spot for me at the Commercial Hotel on Saturdays and the Bluesfest when he was volunteering. He had a wicked sense of humour and we shared many a laugh on a Saturday afternoon or during our lengthy phone calls. He was thrifty with his money but generous with his big hugs and cheeky grin. One of his favorite moments was the first year he volunteered for the Bluesfest and someone thought he was Brian "Blues Daddy" Braille Lee. It was a running joke of ours till he died. Save a chair for me in Heaven, old friend.

Vern, I will always remember volunteering at the Blues Festivals with you. I loved your sense of humour and your bragging that you and Wayne had found the cheapest breakfast in Edmonton. I am sure you are sitting on a bench in Blues Heaven enjoying the music of Stevie Ray or the sultrie tones of Etta...you are in good company. You are missed my friend.
