Vernon Lamar Lacy passed away July 28, 2013, in Yucaipa, California. He was born January 26, 1932, in Los Angeles, California to Wiley J. Lacy, Sr and Jennie (Strandberg) Lacy.
Vernon had been a resident of Yucaipa for the past 6 years. Previously he had lived in the Sacramento area. He was retired from Pacific Telephone in Sacramento where he worked as an engineer for 33 years. Vernon attended Sacramento City College. He had served in the Korean War for three years as a Sargent with the U. S. Marine Corps. Vernon was also an Eagle Boy Scout and a member of the Veterans of Foreign War.
Vernon is survived by his four daughters Diane Gill of Yucaipa, Karen Macomber, Judy Lacy and Elizabeth Lacy, all of Seattle, Washington; one brother, Wiley Lacy, Jr; seven grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
Visitation Thursday, August 1, 2013, at 9:30am and Funeral Service at 10:30am, both at Weaver Mortuary, 1177 Beaumont Avenue, Beaumont, California. Interment will follow at 12:15pm, at Riverside National Cemetery, 22495 Van Buren Blvd, Riverside, California.
