Victor G. Golla Sr. passed away Wednesday January 16, 2013 at the age of 87. Victor was born on July 2, 1925 in St. Hedwig Texas to Edward and Nellie (Stanush) Golla. Mr. Golla was a U. S. Navy World War II Veteran, a Converse City Councilman, and a member of the Converse Volunteer Fire Department. He was a Letter Carrier for the U.S. Postal Service and retired in 1985. He is preceded in death by his parents; and infant son, Tommy Golla. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Lorine (Eisenhauer) Golla; children, Victor Golla Jr. and wife Marilyn, Sharon Arnold and husband Frank, Peggy Gutz and husband Joe, Larry Golla and wife Sherry, Loretta Korbar and wife Louis, Susie Golla, David Golla and wife Julie; grandchildren, Bradley, Rebecca, Joshua, Julie, Jennifer, Justin, Richard, Bobby, Jessica, Travis, Aleisha, Katie, Molly, and Cody; five great grandchildren; brothers, August Golla, Charles Golla, and Joe Golla. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held on Friday January 18, 2013 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM with a Rosary being recited at 7:00 PM at Colonial Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday January 19, 2013 at 10:00 AM at St. Monica's Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Park.
