Victoria Palumbo Arshad

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- Victoria Palumbo-Arshad, 58, of Great Kills, a homemaker and a former insurance clerk, died Wednesday in Richmond University Medical Center, West Brighton.


Born Victoria Palumbo in Brooklyn, she moved to Great Kills in 2002.


A homemaker, Mrs. Palumbo-Arshad worked for a few years as clerk with a Manhattan insurance company before leaving to raise a family.


Mrs. Palumbo-Arshad was a graduate of Lafayette High School in Brooklyn. She was a parishioner of St. Clare's R.C. Church, Great Kills.


She enjoyed drawing and knitting.


"She was a loving person who was fun to be with," said her niece, Loretta Cavataio.


Surviving are her son, John McCray, and three grandchildren.


The funeral will be tomorrow at 8 p.m. in the Casey-McCallum-Rice South Shore Funeral Home, Great Kills. Arrangements include cremation.
