I loved my Uncle, my Godfather. He was fun, loving and a joy to be with. He was a positive influence growing up with him in my life. Not only did I get to enjoy his company, but was able to share with John, Sean and Melissa. We will all remember the kind and loving man that he was. I will always keep him in my heart, and I will miss him.

As I sit here and reminisce over the past 56 years, I have wonderful memories of my Uncle Vincent. He was sometimes strict with me especially through my turbulent teenage years, yet stood up for me when I wanted to go somewhere my mom wouldn't let me. These are memories I hold near and dear of a wonderful uncle who loved me as his niece even though at the time I didn't realize it.
God bless the entire Accardi family and give them the strength to move forward during these very sad times.
Love,
Rosemarie Wilburn

My first memory of Vincent was his wrapping of Elizabeth's engagement ring inside of a box, inside of a box, inside...etc. I don't know how old I was but I have not forgotten the "event". As the oldest Girl at family dinners I was introduced to pokeer games, match shooting contests, and other boy things. Vincents family apartment always had provalones hanging around. As we grew and Long Island became home base, pasta before any meal was required! We, now there were five girls among the boys (8) and Vincent assured us that if any boy hurt us in any way he would "have them taken care of". I could go on with memories and that is the good side of sad events. Happy memories and the knowledge that there is no pain in the world beyond. Betsy, John, Blanche and Elizabeth our thoughts are with you, we hope your good memories take up all the space that time gives us. Dorlene, Gary, Amanda and Bradley Stevens (Glen Rock,NJ)

Uncle Vincent was my favorite uncle. I remember the corner store on Harrison Ave. Grandma would send me there with a dime to buy whatever I wanted. Then the house on Logan St. I loved visiting, watching Aunt Elizabeth cooking the most delicious food and sitting down to eat with Uncle Vincent presiding over the meal. His picking up Johnny and saying how beautiful he was and should be a model. The memories go on and on and were such an intrgral part of my childhood. Uncle Vincent was always bigger than life for me. My memories of him will help me keep his spirit alive especially as I share them with my children and friends.

To Those I Love

When I am gone, release me, let me go
I have so many things to see and do
You mustn't tie yourself to me with tears
Be happy that we had so many years.

I gave you my love, you can only guess
How much you gave to me in happiness
I thank you for the love you each have shown
But now it's time I travelled on alone.

So grieve a while for me if grieve you must
Then let your grief be comforted by trust
It's only for a while that we must part
So bless the memories within your heart.

I won't be far away, for life goes on
So if you need me, call me and I will come
Though you can't see me or touch me I'll be near
All of my love around you soft and clear.

And then, when you must come this way alone
I'll greet you with a smile and say
"Welcome Home"
