Virgie Mae Everhart

June 27, 1931 - July 9, 2010
Virgie Mae "Shockley" Everhart, age 79, passed away suddenly at her residence. She was a member of Sunrise Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her husband A.T. Everhart, daughter Caroline Shockley, mother and father Callie and Katie Helton, brothers Martin and L.B. Helton, sister Cleo Glasscock.

Survivors include her son, Charles Shockley or Bulls Gap, grandchildren, Traci and Lee Tackett and Michelle Shockley. great grandchildren, Brittany, Michael Bell and Jesse Tackett, Niece, Lynda Williams, step children, Arnold and Gayle Everhart of Texas, Jeanette Stover of Colorado, Arlene Cooper of Washington, step grandchildren, Bridgett Hardin, Michelle Welch, Nicole Cooper.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 12, 2010 at 8 p.m. in the chapel of Bulls Gap Funeral Home with the Rev. Johnny Shipley officiating. Family and friends will meet at 9:50 a.m. Tuesday in Philippi Cemetery for a 10:00 a.m. graveside service. Pallbearers include: Lee Tackett, Stephen Williams, Tony Park, Randy Everhart, Lash Williams and Junior Johnson, honorary pallbearers include Steve Harmon and Randy Williams. The family will receive friends from 6- 8:00 p.m. on Monday prior to the services. Bulls Gap Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
