Virginia Miller Arnold, 77, went to be with her Heavenly Father on May 4, 2014 after a long battle due to a massive stroke she suffered in 2005. She was born on January 13, 1937, Lillian Virginia King to Maurice and Emma Dell King, in Ackerman, MS. She graduated from Aberdeen High School in 1956 where she enjoyed playing basketball and spending time with her friends.
Virginia was the loving and devoted wife of Kenneth Arnold for 28 years. They resided in Fannin, MS and were very active members of First Baptist Church of Fannin. She was a loving mother that devoted her life raising her three children. She enjoyed gardening, arts & crafts, but most of all she loved spending time with her family. She was loved by all that knew her.
Virginia is preceded by her parents, Maurice and Emma Dell King and her brother, Billy King. She is survived by, her loving husband, Kenneth Arnold of Tupelo, MS; two sons, Thomas Miller(David Almanza) of Jackson, MS and Terry Miller of Carthage, MO; one daughter, Angie Strickland(Jamie) of Madison, MS; one step son, Doug Arnold (Lynn) of Tupelo, MS; one step daughter, Debbie Meadows(Jamie) of Pearl, MS; one brother, Maurice King of Clinton, MS; two sisters, Jeanette Coleman, of Corinth, MS and Nancy Sebren of Aberdeen, MS; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Lakeland Nursing and Rehabilitation for the excellent care given to Virginia for the last eight years. We would also like to thank Hospice Advantage for working with the nursing home to make her last days peaceful.
Visitation will be from 5:00pm to 8:00pm Monday, May 5, 2014 at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl, MS and from 10:00am to 11:00am Tuesday, May 6th. Funeral services will be at 11:00am Tuesday in the funeral home chapel with interment to follow at First Baptist Church of Fannin Cemetery. Donations to the First Baptist Church of Fannin Building Fund, 101 Church Rd, Brandon, MS 39047 can be made in lieu of flowers.
