BARNES, Virginia Elizabeth, 100, a resident of Prattville, AL, passed away on Monday, June 20, 2011 in Lawrenceville, GA. She has been a member of the Prattville First Baptist Church since moving to Prattville in 1932. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ross Everett Barnes, Sr., and one son, Ross Everett Barnes, Jr. She is survived by one son, Malcolm Barnes, of Lawrenceville, GA; one brother, Jack Walton, Phoenix, AZ; one sister, Mammie Mason, Orange Beach, FL; five grandchildren; ten great grandchildren. The family request no flowers, in lieu of, memorials may be made to the Autauga County RSVP or the Prattville First Baptist Church Seniors Program. Funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 23, 2011 at Prattville First Baptist Church with Dr. Travis Coleman and Rev. Dave Burns officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. The body will lie in repose at the church one hour prior to the service. Visitation will be held at Ridout's Prattville Chapel on Wednesday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
