Vivian Bergstrom, 100, passed away peacefully Friday morning. A Seguin resident for the past twenty-one years, Vivian is survived by her daughter Alfreida Leiter of Seguin, her granddaughters Stephanie Martin and husband Conan of Boerne and Pamela Bounds and husband Jason of Odessa; five great grandchildren Kathryn, Jared and Chelsea Melton, Ryan and Bryce Press and one great great granddaughter, Makayla. Vivian was preceded in death by her parents, Nora and Clarence Collins, her husband Alfred and her son-in-law Bernard Leiter.
Vivian was born December 13, 1911 in Bellefontaine, Ohio but spent the majority of her life in Texas, first in San Antonio and later in Fort Worth. In 1932 she married Alfred Bergstrom of Norse, Texas and they resided in Fort Worth until his death in 1980. Vivian then moved to Seguin to be near her daughter and her family. A lifelong Lutheran, Vivian was a member of Spirit of Joy Lutheran Church.
Her funeral is scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at Faith Lutheran Church with Pastor Tim Bauerkemper presiding. Interment following on Wednesday, May 23rd in Arlington, Texas. The family would like to thank Remarkable Healthcare and Odessy Hospice for their care. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a memorial contribution to the Christan Cupboard or to the charity of your choice.
