Funeral services for William L. "Chief" Morrow 85 of Anniston will be Friday at 3:00 P.M. at Gray Brown Service Chapel with Chaplain George Gray and Minister Jim Harrington officiating. Burial will follow at Edgemont Cemetery. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service. Mr. Morrow passed away Tuesday at his residence.
Survivors include his wife Elizabeth Morrow of Anniston, sons Fred Morrow (Nancy) of Anniston, Wayne Morrow (Bobbie) of Lineville, grandchildren Corey Morrow, Zack Morrow, Amber Morrow, great grandchildren Austin Morrow, Kendyl Morrow, Caleb Tidwell, Caitlyn Morrow, brother Edward Morrow (Shirley) of Blue Ridge, Ga., brother-in-law George Maul (Dianne) of San Jose, Cal., nieces Sandra, Cheryl, Cynthia, Pam, Elaine, nephew Jerry.
Mr. Morrow is preceded in death by his parents William A. and Lavada Morrow, three brothers and one sister.
Pallbearers will be Zack Morrow, Corey Morrow, Steve Robertson, Gary Carroll, Lynn Ursery, Hoyt Bowen, alternates Ned Sims and Ken Swader. Honorary Pallbearers will be FOP Honor Guard.
Mr. Morrow was a native of Randolph County and a resident of Calhoun County. He was veteran of WWII 709 MP Battalion Co. A from 1945- 1948, he was employed for 20 years with Anniston Police dept., one year with JSU Police, was Chief of Police at Weaver for 17 years and taught JSU Police Academy. He was a member of Police and Fireman Retirement Association, FOP Lodge #4, Alabama Association of Chief of Police, VFW Post 924, and the steering committee for Calhoun County 911.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Methodist Saks or St, Jude's Children's Hospital.
