Abed, Wadia of Ann Arbor, MI died October 10, 2010 at the age of 91. She was born Wadia Hanna Salfiti in Jerusalem on September 23, 1919 the daughter of Hanna and Afifa Salfiti. She was affectionately known as Mama by her children and as Taita by her grandchildren and great grandchildren; and loved by many. A very good Christian woman steeped in her faith Wadia set an example for all she met. Her loving family will remember her for the pride and interest she took in all of them, her cooking and especially the love and joy she had in her gardening of beautiful flowers. Those left to remember Wadia are daughters, Najat Kafity and her husband Bishop Samir, Nuhad Zecharia and her husband Amin, Naila Asali and her husband Ziad, Rudaina Melhem and her husband Richard and Wadad Abed; sons, Bassam Abed and his partner Peter Sieger and Majeed Abed. 2 sisters, Emily Tarazi and Aida Aweida and a brother, Fuad Salfiti, 13 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren are also left behind to remember her. A funeral service will be 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, October 13, 2010 at the Episcopal Church of the Incarnation 3257 Lohr Rd., Ann Arbor, MI with Pastor Joe Summers officiating.
