Walter Howey, 69, joined his Lord and Savior, February 7, 2013, surrounded by his family as he took his last breath on this side and his first breath in heaven.He was born December 14,1943, in Harrisburg, PA, in 1945, his family moved to Independence, Missouri, until he entered the United States Air Force at the age of 19, where he served four years honorably as Airman First Class, including a tour in Turkey. After the Air Force, Walt moved to Dallas,attending Christ for the Nations Institute. It was there he met the woman who would be his wife, Katharine. It would not be for another year that they would meet again, and on their first meeting, during a worship service, he proposed marriage, and she accepted. Walt and Katharine would have celebrated their 36th wedding anniversary on February 12, 2013. Walt worked at Menasco Aerosystems in Fort Worth, for twenty-three years, and later as an Internal Quality Auditor and Material Compliance Analyst Auditort.He worked for Bell Helicopter in Euless, as a Supplier Product Assurance Specialist performing quality assurance audits for government and private contractors. He was employed by Bell Helicopter until the time of death. He also pursued and achieved Six Sigma Green Belt Certification, served two terms as Grand Prairie City Councilman. He and Katharine faithfully served in each church they attended. As a member of High Point Church in Arlington for twelve years, he served as a home group leader. Walt loved his family. He lit up with a smile when Katharine, his children, and grandchildren were around. He enjoyed the quiet simple things in life. His family will deeply miss him. He leaves behind a godly legacy and heritage to his wife, children, and family, and his life bears testimony to the goodness and faithfulness of God. He would be the first to say, "to God be the glory! Hallelujah!"
