Walter V. "Wally" Mutz
Of Brown Deer, WI. Passed away Tues. afternoon July 15, 2014 while surrounded by the love of family at the age of 80. He was born Sept. 8, 1933 to Frank and Loretta Mutz in Granville, which is now the Northwest side of Milw.. Wally was raised on a farm, became a volunteer firefighter and worked for the Brown Deer DPW for 38 years. On June 14, 1958 he married Mary Jane Schmidt and together they raised 5 children. Together with the love of his life Mary, he loved to garden, restore tractors, go up north to Hazelhurst as often as possible, find that deal at a rummage sale and be with family. Survived by his wife; Mary (nee Schmidt), children; Jeff (Barb), Tim, Tom (Kim), Sharon (Eric) and Greg, grandchildren; Paul, Chris, Steven, Nicole, Ben, Doug and Megan, 5 great-grandchildren and many other family and friends. Preceded in death by his parents; Frank and Loretta, and siblings; Alvin "Ebbie", Teddy, Frank, Martha, Carol and Rosemary. Visitation 4-7:00 PM on Sun. July 20, 2014 at the funeral home. Prayer vigil Sun. 7:00 PM. Mass of Christian Burial 10:00 AM on Mon. July 21, 2014 at St. Catherine of Alexandria Church, 8661 W. 76th Pl, Milw., WI 53223. MEET AT CHURCH. Interment church cemetery. Special thanks to all of his caregivers. Though He is no longer with us, we can be comforted knowing that after the Resurrection, we will see him again in Paradise.

Growing up in Brown Deer I remember seeing Wally for the DPW and talked with him a few times, he was always a nice and friendly guy to talk to. I also went to high school with his son Tim. Rest in peace Wally.

Wally will be missed greatly, he suffered a lot and is now at peace and free from pain. I am sure he is talking with dad and laughing at all the good times. May your family find comfort during these hard times.
