Warren C. Charette, age 88, of Fairhaven died Monday, February 18, 2013 at his residence. He was the husband of Joan (Fletcher) Charette, to whom he had been married for 59 years.
Born in Acushnet, son of the late Thomas and Alceta (Dion) Charette, he had resided in Fairhaven for the last 51 years. He graduated from New Bedford High School and attended UMass Amherst. He served in the Army during World War II, in the South of France, Rhineland and North Africa.
Mr. Charette was employed as a representative for Dupont Pharmaceutical, retiring in 1988.
His greatest joy in life was spending time with his family
Surviving in addition to his wife are six sons, Marc Charette and his companion Heidi of Falmouth, Thomas W. Charette of New Bedford, Daniel J. Charette and his wife Jo-Anne of Fairhaven, Steven M. Charette and his wife Debra of Temecula, CA., Edward J. Charette and his wife Bernadette of Fairhaven, and Timothy D. Charette and his wife Charlene of Fairhaven; one daughter, Susan M. Savoie and her husband Enoch of New Bedford; thirteen grandchildren, Melissa, Amy, Marc, Sara, Kaleigh, Hannah, Kara, Maria, Daniel, Alexandra, Danielle, Max and Cameron; four nieces, Marilyn, Jocelyn, Lauren and Leslie. He was also brother of the late Rita Lamarre.
Relatives and friends are invited to his funeral service Thursday, February 21, 2013 at 6:30 PM in the WARING-SULLIVAN Homes of Memorial Tribute at Fairlawn, 180 Washington Street, Fairhaven. Visiting hours, 4-6:30 PM prior to the service. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in his honor may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas 66675.
