ALLEN Wendell V. Allen, 50, went home to be with the Lord Friday, Feb. 3, 2012. He was born June 30, 1961, in Jacksonville, FL, to Jesse V. Allen and Mrs. Nancy Carolyn Goss Allen. Wendell was the owner of a mobile tire business. His passion was fishing and spending time with his granddaughter. Wendell was preceded in death by his parents, Jessie and Nancy Allen, and brother, Kelly Allen. Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Samantha Allen; stepchildren, Katlin Reed and Kayla Chambers (Michael); 1 grandchild, Chloe Wood; 2 sisters, Denise Stephens (Emory) and Karen Byrd (Adam); a number of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends Monday, Feb. 6, 2012, from 6 until 8 PM, at Hardage-Giddens Edgewood Chapel. The funeral service will be Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2012, at 11:00 AM, also in the chapel, with Bishops Curtis Rhoden and Steve Dubose officiating. Interment will follow in Riverside Memorial Park.
