William Amstutz

June 28, 1933 - January 21, 2012
William "Bill" Amstutz was born in Chehalis on 6/28/33 and passed away suddenly on 1/21/12. He was raised on the family farm west of Chehalis. He attended Adna schools, graduating in 1951. He served in the US Army Infantry from 1953-1955. He worked for 26 years as a letter carrier for the US Postal Service in Chehalis retiring in 1991.
He enjoyed playing slo-pitch and bowling up into his 40's. He loved hunting and fishing and going on walks in the great outdoors. You could always find him cheering on the Mariners and Seahawks.
He was preceded in death by his parents Elmer and Frieda (Steudler) Amstutz and his two sisters, Ileen and Eleanor. He is survived by his wife Janet (Allender); four daughters, Lori (& Bryan McCanna, The Dalles OR), Karyn (& Brent Edwards, Meridian, ID), Susan (& Derek Hardenbergh, Sandy, OR) and Jolyn (& Dan Curfman, Puyallup, WA); two sons, Brian (& Ronnie) and David (& Lisa) both of Wasilla, AK; 11 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Thursday between 10:00 am and 4:00 pm with services on Friday at 1:30 pm at Sticklin Funeral Chapel in Centralia.
Please make donations to the American Heart Association in lieu of flowers.
