Funeral: 10 a.m. Monday at Moore Funeral Home. Interment: Moore Memorial Garden. Visitation: 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Moore Funeral Home.

William "Bill" was born in Catonsville, Md., to John Lee Chapman Sr. and Margaret Pennington on Nov. 3, 1919. He attended high school at Catonsville and Gilman Prep School. He graduated from the University of Colorado at Boulder in May 1951 with a degree in mechanical engineering.
William was a sergeant of armament for the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II. He worked as an engineer for several companies, including LTV, and in many countries, including the U.S., England, Greenland and Trinidad. He was involved with Arlington AARP Tax Aid program maintaining PC equipment for many years.
He was preceded death by John Lee Chapman Sr. and Margaret Pennington; and his sister, Margaret Pennington Chapman.
Survivors: William is survived by his wife, Edith Kramer Chapman of Arlington; brother, John Lee Chapman Jr. of Catonsville, Md.; daughter, Vicki Lee Turney; son, William John Chapman III; son, Robert T. Chapman; daughter, Katherine Anne Lewis; granddaughter, Lauren Christina Chapman; grandson, Justin David Lewis; granddaughter, Anna Marie Lewis; granddaughter, Kate Lynn Lewis; and granddaughter, Sara Ashley Lewis.
