BOSSIER CITY, LA – Services to honor the life of Mr. William G. "Bill" Lowery, 71, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, April 26, 2013, at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home, officiated by Dr. Randy Harper of Bellaire Baptist Church. Interment, with military honors, will follow in Hill Crest Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Thursday evening between the hours of 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Bill was born on February 16, 1942, in Collins, MS and passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by those he loved on Monday, April 22, 2013. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran and retired as owner of his own mortgage company. Bill was a member of Bellaire Baptist Church and taught the Co-Ed 8 Sunday School Class. He also enjoyed fishing, gardening, reading, and playing computer games.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents, Jason W. and Verdie (Ivy) Lowery; his infant son, Timothy Lowery; and two brothers, Richard and Jerry Lowery. He leaves behind to cherish his memory; his wife of 46 years, Sharon (Sterling) Lowery; daughter, Rebecca Werner and husband, Matt; brother, Lonnie Wade Lowery; very special nephew, Wade Lowery; and numerous other nieces and nephews.
Honoring Mr. Lowery as pallbearers are Matt Werner, Wade Lowery, Bo Taylor, Tom Hopkins, James Martin, and Larry Slayden.
