Peoria – William G. “Bill” Steiner, 86, of Peoria, passed away at 9:50 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 15, 2012 at Bel-Wood Nursing Home in Peoria.
He was born Aug. 15, 1926 in Peoria to Glenn and Verna (Johnson) Steiner. He married Ann J. Ronchetti in Cherry, IL on March 15, 1952. She survives.
Also surviving are 3 children, Brian Steiner of Peoria, William (Dana) Steiner Jr. of Gilroy, CA, Renee (Wes) Meyers of Redmond, WA; 2 grandsons, Danny and Scott Meyers; sister, Joann Lewis of Batavia; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Roberta.
William was a US Air Force Veteran. He graduated from Aurora College and later received his Master’s degree and PHD from the University of Illinois. He was a Professor at Bradley University for 25 years, retiring in 1992 Professor Emeritus.
Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 25, 2012 at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria. Cremation will be accorded following visitation.
