Holley -
Winifred E. Craddock, age 102, of Holley, New York, died on February 21, 2012 in Virginia. She was born on November 04, 1909 in Holley, NY to George and Mary Winden and was a lifetime resident of the upper western New York State area. She graduated from Holley High School in 1929, attend Brockport College and graduated w/a teaching degree in 1931. After graduating college she worked as a school teacher until she married in 1937, at which point she chose to become a full time homemaker and farmer's wife. While raising her family and working on the farm, Winifred was a member of the Holley Library committee, Holley PTA, New York State Red Cross and the New York State Home Bureau, where she served as President for a year. In honor of her service to the New York State Home Bureau, a scholarship fund was dedicated to Brockport College through the New York State Federation of Home Bureaus.
WINIFRED was predeceased by her husband of 55 yrs, Clifford J CRADDOCK. She is survived by her daughter, Mary Jane Rodgers of Falls Church, Virginia, 3 Granddaughters, Suzanne(Tim)DeGrauwe, Sandra Rodgers and Patricia (Sean) Herrity.; 7 Great Grandchildren; Nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to call on Friday, March 9, 2012 from 7-9pm at the Merrill-Grinnell Funeral Home, 39 Geddes St., Holley. Her mass of Christian burial will be on Saturday, March 10th at 10:00am at St. Mary's Church in Holley. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery on Friday, April 20, 2012 at 10am.
