Zella V. Allen, 89, of Vancouver, Washington died Thursday, February 21, 2013 at her home. She was born December 17, 1923 in Vancouver in a house boat on the Columbia River.
She married the love of her life, Truman E Allen, on April 1st, 1939. They were married for 63 wonderful years before his passing in 2003. When first married she was a cook for Colonel Bell at The Vancouver Barracks. She also worked in the Kaiser Ship yards. In 1940 Zella and Truman moved to California where they lived for 40 years before returning to Vancouver, WA in 1987 after selling their family business. She liked to crochet, make pies, and if you came to her home she always made sure you had eaten. She loved the Lord and enjoyed spending time with family members.
Zella is survived by her children, Loretta Dobson, Gloria Allen, Thomas Allen and Shirley Luenser; 13 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Truman Allen, Sr. and son, Truman Allen, Jr.
A graveside service for Zella will be held 2:00 pm, Wednesday, February 27th at Park Hill Cemetery, Vancouver, Washington.
