Zerland Bacon (Zeb), 73, of Punta Gorda, Fla. passed away Monday, September 17th, 2012, at the Tidewell Hospice Home in Venice, Florida. Zerland was born on May 31st, 1959 in Kingsport, Tennessee, the son of Henry and Lavada Bacon of Kingsport, Tennessee. Zeb graduated from Ketron High School in Kingsport, and completed a wonderful career with Abbott Laboratories in North Chicago, Illinois. Zeb and Nancy Davidson married on December 14th, 1963, and had a wonderful marriage of nearly 49 years. Zeb and Nancy made their home in Punta Gorda, Florida and were surrounded by so many friends. Zeb will be sorely missed by his family and friends. His generosity and character has made an impact on so many lives. Zeb was a best friend, a golfing partner and inevitably the center of attention wherever he was.
Zeb is survived by his loving wife, Nancy Sons: Roger and wife Joanna of Wonder Lake, Illinois, and Richard of Punta Gorda, Florida, Grandchildren; Kyle and Kendra Bacon Sisters: Ruth Barger; Patsy Cumbow and husband, Carl; Gwen Clodfelter and husband, Howard. A Brother-in-law, Art Webb, and a Sister-in-law, Pat Bacon, both of Kingsport, Tennessee.
Several Nieces and Nephews. A celebration of Zeb's life will take place at 11 am Saturday, September 22nd, 2012 at East Lawn Memorial Park, 4997 Memorial Blvd, Kingsport, Tennessee 37664. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting any donations be made to the Tidewell Hospice in Port Charlotte, Florida (www.tidewell.org).
