SCOTT; Clifford James "C.J." (retired Major) Passed away peacefully on July 19, 2016 at Parkwood Hospital in his 93rd year. Beloved husband of the late Marie (nee Thompson -2009). Also predeceased by his daughter Colleen Victoria Boxem. C.J. is survived by his beloved daughter Linda Bell-Snieder (Peter Snieder) of Goderich, ON; and his grandchildren Suzan Bell (Jamie MacDonald) of Guelph, ON, Matthew Bell of Guelph, ON, Scott Boxem of Shelburne, ON and Ryan Boxem of the North West Territories. SCOTT; Clifford James "C.J." (retired Major) Passed away peacefully on July 19, 2016 at Parkwood Hospital in his 93rd year. Beloved husband of the late Marie (nee Thompson -2009). Also predeceased by his daughter Colleen Victoria Boxem. C.J. is survived by his beloved daughter Linda Bell-Snieder (Peter Snieder) of Goderich, ON; and his grandchildren Suzan Bell (Jamie MacDonald) of Guelph, ON, Matthew Bell of Guelph, ON, Scott Boxem of Shelburne, ON and Ryan Boxem of the North West Territories. C.J. will be fondly remembered by his last surviving sibling John Rock (Sandra) of Aylmer, ON and several nieces and nephews. C.J. held a long and distinguished career with the Canadian Armed Forces which spanned some 36 years and started in 1942 at the Wolseley Barracks. As C.J. completed his jump training he became a member of the newly formed 1st Canadian Parachute Battalion; this took him overseas where he became part of the British 6th Airborne Division. He also served with the Royal Canadian Regiment as well as the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Battalions of The Canadian Guards and was an Instructor with the Senior NCO and Officer Cadet Wing. During his career C.J. saw active duty in France on D-Day, in Europe and in Korea. Major Scott was appointed a member of the Order of Military Merit in 1978. In Lieu of flowers, donations to St. Joseph's Health Care Foundation to the "Veterans Care and Comfort Fund" in Memory of C.J Scott would be greatly appreciated. Family and friends may gather for visitation at Needham Funeral Service at 520 Dundas Street, London, Ontario on Sunday July 24th, 2016 from 5-8pm. RCR service will be held at 7pm. Funeral Service on Monday July 25, 2016 at 11am in the Needham Funeral Home Chapel. Interment to follow.
