GAYLARD, A. Ruth (née McMinn) In her 96th year, Ruth passed away peacefully on July 7, 2012 at home in Hamilton, surrounded by her children. Born in Collingwood, Ontario, March 14, 1917 to Joseph and Lucille McMinn. Dear wife of the late John A. (Jack) Gaylard. Predeceased by sisters Jeanne Nicholls and Edith Berry and brother Don McMinn. Loved and loving Mother to John, (Lynn, who cared tenderly for her over the past year) and Linda (Gerald Robinson). Grandma to Mark and Cyndi, Angus and Malcolm. Great-grandmother to Ema, Alyssa and Josiah. Dear long-time friend and sister-in-law to Marion Gaylard (daughters Shelley and Marnie)....

Great-grandmother to Ema, Alyssa and Josiah. Dear long-time friend and sister-in-law to Marion Gaylard (daughters Shelley and Marnie). Loving aunt to nieces and nephews in Canada and the US. Ruth loved to recount stories of her summers on the Nottawasaga River near Wasaga Beach. She was a founding member of the Collingwood Ski Club in the 1930's. She was a nursing graduate, Class of 1940, Hamilton General Hospital. A thirty year breast cancer survivor, Ruth gave courage and inspiration to those who knew her. Many friends have fond memories of Ruth's loving hospitality wherever she lived, especially at her cottage in Troy, Ontario and their home in Lake Placid, Florida. She was a long time member of Zion United Church, Hamilton. Special thanks to Dr. Mark Grafham and Dr. David Morgan. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Salvation Army or Zion United Church, Hamilton. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Ruth's life will take place in September.
