Anthony John Benvenuto "Tony", 59, passed away wed, Oct. 10th at 10:30am at his home in Pompano Beach, Florida.

Tony was born in 1953 in Rochester, N.Y. and moved here in 1959 from Rochester N.Y. Tony grew up in Pompano Beach from the age of 6 years old, and graduated from Pompano Beach H.S. in 1971. As a teenager, he played in two local bands, The Chain Gang and Wicked Incorporated, participating in the Battle of the Bands contests, and even performing in the Bahamas at the Emerald Beach Hotel in the 1960's. His love of music lasted until the end of his life, with frequent jam sessions under his backyard "tiki hut" on the weekends with a large circle of friends, which he hosted with his wife Sue. Tony was an active member of the Pompano Beach Lions Club, and participated in Pompano's annual Fishing Rodeo's, as well as on local pool teams. He was an avid fisherman from the time he was a child, and enjoyed being out on his boat the "Sea U Later." Lobstering in the Keys as well as yearly house boating adventures with his buddies; his life was filled with music, boating, fishing, and his Miami Dolphins. To his nieces and nephews, he was their beloved "Uncle Nin" who taught them all how to fish and make music at the holidays. Tony was known as the "go to guy" when anyone needed anything, and he was always ready to help and make you laugh. He had a great sense of humor right up to the end, which cancer was not able to take from him. He is now on the rest of his universal journey, finally reunited with his beautiful daughter Sarah, the light of his life. He will be missed forever by everyone who knew and loved him: son, brother, husband, father, uncle, and friend.

Tony was the owner of Benvenuto, Incorporated, a lawn, sprinkler and general home maintenance company, serving the Pompano Beach and Ft. Lauderdale areas.

He is predeceased by his beloved daughter Sarah Benvenuto.
Tony will be greatly missed by his mother and father: Mr. & Mrs. Anthony G. Benvenuto (Owner of Landscaping by Benvenuto for over 40 years); wife of 29 years, Sue Mack Benvenuto; sisters: Susan McDonough Stackpoole (Ken), Mary Jo Mermer (Michael); nieces, Megan McDonough Bell (Steve), Erin McDonough Schiller (Erik), Karli Jo Teague; great-nephews, Dylan, Ayden, Oliver, Domenic; and numerous family members in the Rochester N.Y. area.
