I only knew Aaron through work at Verizon, but I always appreciated his welcoming spirit and sense of humor. Aaron and I worked closely in getting projects completed for the Hampton Roads area. Aaron had one of the best decorated cubes with family pictures. He will certainly be missed.

Aaron, you left us much too soon. We will always remember your huge smile, infectious laugh, and sense of humor. Although we didn't gather often, I know you had a sense of family and wanted more. Now you can partake in unity with all the family that left us also. You left us but I believe you shall look over all of us. Your loyalty and all those memories shall live in our thoughts and hearts. Be at ease and feel our lasting love for ever.

There aren't enough prayers to bring your family comfort, although I'm praying and praying. The love you shared and joy about being a dad ....I feel heart break for your babies. Losing a parent is one of the most painful losses in the world. I'm sure they will be reminded of your love. There weren't many conversations that didn't include you mentioning them and anyone who knows you and your family will keep that love alive. What a loss for all of us Aaron. I can't explain my gratitude for a continued friendship with you. It was truly a gift. Your daughters and Sarah will continue to be in my thoughts and prayers.

Aaron,
You will be missed greatly. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
Growing up with Aaron and Brian Meade (Oxford) we always tried to find ways around the system, or ways to get in trouble.
If we were bored we'd find a spot on Marshman's farm and go camping for two days, but figured out that we didn't exactly have the correct camping gear or we became bored and headed back to Roma's for a couple slices of pizza. Using Mrs. Meade's cookie cooling rack to cook a 5 lb steak that Aaron brought camping didn't exactly work either. must defrost the steak 1st the cookie rack didn't stand up o the camp fire.
One time we thought we'd be really bright and have an exchange student buy us some beer and Aaron volunteered to hide it under his bed. Big mistake as his dad found it. Yup, Aaron was grounded for a week.
When Mr. Locke had a list of tasks for Aaron to do before he could go out and about with Brian and I, we would see what we could do to help. So we drove my lawn mover from downtown Oxford to the Locke's house to help him mow the lawn, thus getting him out of his chores that much earlier. Then my mower broke down and we had to tow it back to town. But we still had the rest of the day to run down to Lindy's Ice Cream.
We can't forget the Big River Trip Aaron pulled out an inflatable raft built for 5. What an idea we'll take it to Dan's house and launch it from the middle school and float to his house. Easy enough. Not even a quarter of the way down the river Brian say's, the raft is losing air. Crap Aaron and I grabbed a paddle with Brian on look out we made it about of the way. Then we needed a car, so Aaron picked up the Ford Tarsus from his house and we drove the raft on the roof home. few scratches on the roof but we claimed no knowledge.
Aaron had an interesting idea one time, use his dad's diving light and a blue lens from his bed room to see if we could flag down a car. We saw Paula Cousin's driving down the road and not exactly legal.
Winter boredom Looking for something to do Brian and I drove down to Aaron's to see Marcus and Aaron. What could we do? Being super smart teenagers, we put Marcus in an inflatable tractor tube, hooked it to the back of the Ford Bronco II, putting it in 4x4 mode and . Yes - drove it around in the Locke's snow covered yard. Pulling everyone around until either Marcus or Aaron bit through their lip, who knew the tube would go flying around when you turned? We figured that out rather quickly. Aaron took turn's driving us around or hanging onto the door while sketching on ice/snow covered roads.
All night get togethers and the Stroup's turned into some fun times. Aaron being stronger than most. We grabbed the first person that fell asleep, pushed them inside the sleeping bag and pulled them around the house (Chris Aponte), we might have gone up and down the staircase a few times with him in tow.
If the Locke house hold still has the clothes line 4x4's in the back yard, you might notice a few .22 caliber holes in it. That's another couple of stories.
Growing up with Aaron we had many trip's and stories from going to Norwich McD's, Binghamton, the occasional trip to Morrisville/Oneonta, to the Marshman's farm and to Brian Meade's house to make pizza. Brian's house was ground zero for ways to think up stuff and usually the hiding spot.
To Aaron's family - feel free to reach out with any questions, support or stories you never knew existed.
Take care
Dan Stroup (John 11 25)
