ANGELES, Abel
Passed away on March 27 in the afternoon surrounded by his loving family. His survived by is wife of 55 years, Lillian. Abel was born on September 1, 1930 in Morenci, Arizona. He was sixth of seven children. He joined the United States Marine Corp in 1947. Abel served with distinction during the Korean War were he was awarded the Purple Heart, Presidential Citation Unit (one star), Korean service Medal for his valor. In 1956 he married the love of his life Lillian Marie Fajardo (Lilly). In 1958 he moved his family to Sacramento where he worked for the United States Government for 30 years. He retired in 2000. Abel was an avid fan of football. His three dogs Bo, Bella and Oliver were always at his side. He loved his family above all else and will always be remembered for his biting sense of humor, his loyalty, and patriotism. Abel leaves his five children Maria, Daniel (wife - Leticia), Karen Peterson (husband - Mark), Kathryn Cisneros (husband - Thomas), and Mark. Abel also left behind his cherished grandchildren Gabriel, Richard, Jacob, Adam, Jessica and numerous great grandchildren. The family also wishes to thank the excellent care Abel received at the Veterans hospitals at Mather in Sacramento and the VA Hospital in Martinez, CA. Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial Monday, April 4, 2011 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 581h & M Streets. Private interment, Sacramento Valley National Cemetery, Dixon, CA. Nicoletti, Culjis & Herberger, directors.
