Ada "Teensie" Jolly Cook, 81, of Statesville died Thursday, July 4, 2013, at her daughter's home in Hamptonville. She was born September 15, 1931, in Statesville and was the daughter of the late Ila Goodin and Charles Edward Jolly, Sr. She was a member of Beulah Baptist Church and a devoted homemaker who enjoyed times with her family and gardening. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Cook whom she married on May 23, 1949; a grandson, Jamie Cook; three sisters, Willie Marlowe, Inez Sprinkle, and Deedie Hines; and three brothers, Odell, Junior and Alfred Jolly. She is survived by a daughter, June C....
Ada "Teensie" Jolly Cook, 81, of Statesville died Thursday, July 4, 2013, at her daughter's home in Hamptonville.
She was born September 15, 1931, in Statesville and was the daughter of the late Ila Goodin and Charles Edward Jolly, Sr. She was a member of Beulah Baptist Church and a devoted homemaker who enjoyed times with her family and gardening.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Cook whom she married on May 23, 1949; a grandson, Jamie Cook; three sisters, Willie Marlowe, Inez Sprinkle, and Deedie Hines; and three brothers, Odell, Junior and Alfred Jolly.
She is survived by a daughter, June C. (Brian) Sipes of Hamptonville; a son, Nelson (Polly) Cook; a sister, Hazel Campbell of Troutman; a brother, Buck (Peggy) Jolly of Troutman; three grandchildren, Robbie (Kim) Sipes and Eric Cook (Sarah), both of Statesville, and Jeannie (Allen) Warren of Harmony; and four great-grandchildren, Abigail Sipes, Luke Sipes, Brianna Sipes, Devin Warren and Laurel Cook.
Funeral services celebrating Ada's life will be held at 2:00 Monday, July 8, 2013, in the Westmoreland Chapel of Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home with the Rev. Tom Campbell officiating. Burial will follow at Rocky Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Sunday, July 7, at Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home.
