Adeline Apodaca Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 14, 2012.

Adeline M. Apodaca
Born: August 1, 1923. Earned Her Angel Wings: March 5, 2012.

We knew that we would miss you so, and never find our way. And then we heard the angel say, "She's with you everyday". The sun, the moon, the wind, the stars, will forever be around, reminding us of the love you shared and the peace you've finally found. Treasured in our hearts you'll stay, until we meet again someday.

Born to Primitivo and Juana Martinez. She had 2 older sisters, Josephine Gallegos and Elodia Mendoza and a younger brother Bernardo Martinez of Riverside CA.

Adeline lived most of her life in East Los Angeles , in a community called City Terrace.

Her last 2 years were spent, on an extended visit to Grants Pass , Oregon to stay with her daughter.

Adeline was married to Frank "Ace" Apodaca, they married in 1945 and remained married until his death on January 1, 1980.
She is also survived by two children, Andrew Frank Apodaca and Martha Grace Montrose.

Andrew married Irene and Martha married Doug.

Blessed with 3 grandchildren, Leandra, Cameron, and Audrey

And blessed again, with 5 Great-grandchildren: Kylee, Tanner, Samantha, Rowan, and Peyton.

She will also be missed by many other family and friends.
But most special of friends is her "Comadre" Mary Cortez Venegas (Martin), the best of friends since they were young girls. They were Best Buddies as Mary recalls.

Adeline was a very hard worker, among her various jobs, she worked for Cobbler's Shoe Company, which enabled her to buy every
style and color of shoes she wanted (she did enjoy that perk), and for the L.A. Unified School District .

She loved to garden and spent much time caring for and enjoying her roses. She also enjoyed reading books and gossip magazines.

Dancing was her passion of passions, after she retired, she joined a Senior Ladies Folklorico Group called "The Silver Threads" (she was the youngest member at the time at 65) they performed at various functions and were featured in several local publications. Dancing made her so very happy.
