She met her future husband Edward Abufaris on a blind date in 1949 and they were married six months later They then moved across the ocean to the United States, settling in Massachusetts where they gave birth first to their oldest son Michael and later their only daughter Rosanne. After moving to West Palm Beach, Florida, they gave birth to their last son Edward, Jr. While living in West Palm Beach Adibe worked in Palm Beach on famous Worth Avenue as a seamstress where she built a clientele to begin her own business working from home.

She actively participated with her husband in the Masons, with her sons' in the DeMolay organization and with her daughter in the International Order of Rainbow for Girls. She was also an active member of the Syrian Lebanese American Club of Palm Beach County. It was not uncommon to visit her home at anytime during the week and find her dinner table filled with Brazilian & Middle Eastern food and all were welcomed.

Mrs. Abufaris was fluent in many languages including Portuguese, English, Arabic and Spanish. One of the highlights of her life was being a translator at the American Dental Association where she assisted many who could not understand English with common tasks of attending conferences in foreign countries.

Adibe was a women of great style and dignity, always was willing to go out of her way to help others and was a strong supporter of those she came in contact with. No one was a stranger to her and she welcomed everyone with open arms always placing others needs before her own.

Her husband Edward, her parents, as well as several of her brothers and sisters predeceased Mrs. Abufaris. Her children Dr. Michael Abufaris and his wife Patrice, Rosanne and her husband Craig and Edward Jr. and his wife Linda survive her as do 5 granddaughters and 7 great grandchildren.
