Ms. Mary Lou, Jay and Dana,
I was deeply saddened to read about the death of Mr. Al. He was such a kind, sweet man. My brothers (Billy and Mike) and I have such fond memories of our families during the WSMB days. My late parents (Salva and Bill Treuting) always spoke so highly of Mr. Al and Ms. Mary Lou. Your friendship meant the world to them. Please know you have my deepest sympathy. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.
Love, Patty Treuting Lipari

Dear Carla and Jay,
Words seem so inadequate when you're heart is breaking from the loss of your dear father (in-law). I hope you find comfort recalling his words of wisdom, his kind actions, and the many positive ways he has impacted your lives and the lives of so many in the city of New Orleans. Please know that you and your family are in my prayers during this very sorrowful time. The loss of a parent is hard no matter how old we are. It seems to impress upon us the fragility of life and the brevity of time. May God bless you and your family and hold you close.
Sincerely,
Janet Downey

I'm sad to learn of the passing of our beloved longtime neighbor, Al Widmer. A true patriot... I will always remember the moment I learned of the start of the first Gulf War and battle for Kuwait. I went outside to hang my American Flag and there was Al doing the same thing by his front door. He will be missed.
