Albert W. Benghauser, 104, of DuBois, died Saturday, May 22, 2010 at DuBois Nursing Home. He was the husband of the late Lillian M. (Faudie) Benghauser. Born on June 14, 1905 in New York City, he was a son of the late Jacob J. and Pauline (Phillips) Benghauser. He had been employed with B.& O. Railroad as a Machinist, DuBois Area School District as a custodian, and DuBois Business College as a grounds keeper. Albert was a member at Christ Lutheran Church. Albert W. Benghauser, 104, of DuBois, died Saturday, May 22, 2010 at DuBois Nursing Home. He was the husband of the late Lillian M. (Faudie) Benghauser.

Born on June 14, 1905 in New York City, he was a son of the late Jacob J. and Pauline (Phillips) Benghauser.

He had been employed with B.& O. Railroad as a Machinist, DuBois Area School District as a custodian, and DuBois Business College as a grounds keeper.

Albert was a member at Christ Lutheran Church. He belonged to Volunteer Hose Co. #1 and was the oldest volunteer fireman in DuBois. He had played baseball for The Peerless and for the B. & O. Company Team. Albert was the oldest registered Republican voter in Clearfield County. He was the last living member of his immediate family.

Surviving Albert are two daughters, Polly (Jack) Averill of DuBois and Caroline (Jerry) Woomer of Treasure Lake; six grandchildren, John Averill, Jr., Deborah Rusonis, Jeffry Smith, Andrew Woomer, Amy Harshman, and Bill Averill; three great grandchildren, Stephanie Smith, Tyler Smith, and Jonah Averill.

Preceding Albert in death are his parents, his wife, Lillian, two sisters, Helen and Lillian, three brothers, Floyd, Jacob, and William.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00AM on Wednesday, May 26, 2010 at Christ Lutheran Church with his pastor, Rev. Katherine Douglass officiating.

Friends will be received at Mohney-Yargar Funeral Chapel on Tuesday from 2 to 4:00PM and 7 to 9:00PM. An additional viewing will be held at the church on Wednesday from 10:00AM until the time of service. Burial will be in Morningside Cemetery.
