NEW IBERIA – Funeral Services will be conducted for Mr. Albert Broussard Sr., age 93, at 3:00 pm Monday, February 4, 2013 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church with Fr. Bill Gearheard officiating. Interment will be held at St. Peter's Cemetery with military honors by VFW Post #1982.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm on Sunday with a Rosary at 6:30 pm. The funeral home will reopen at 9:00 am on Monday and resume visitation until service time.
A native of Patoutville and resident of New Iberia, Mr. Broussard passed away at 7:55 am on Friday February 1, 2013 at his residence.
He is survived by his children, AlLana Sue B. Dore', Brenella Jane Broussard, Phillip P. Broussard and wife Jennifer of Lafayette, Kevin L. Broussard and wife Kathy of New Iberia, and Albert Broussard Jr. of New Iberia; grandchildren, Amy D. Guillory and husband Jerrod, Jared P. Dore', Allan M. Dore', Stephen A. Broussard and companion Chad Huff, Brock A. Touchet and wife Sarah, Mary L. Broussard, Alicia F. Hulin, Christopher P. Broussard and Brenda, Michael A. Broussard, Barrie B. Delcambre and husband Shawn, and DeJean L. Broussard and wife Brandie; 18 great-grandchildren; and brother, Riverst J. Broussard of Anniston, AL.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Breaux Broussard; a grandson, Albert Joseph Broussard; parents, Rivers and Zolide Dartez Broussard; brothers, Milton J. Broussard, Ivest Broussard, and Hilton J. Broussard; sisters, Florence B. Leleux, Evelyn B. Jolet, Marie B. White, and Bernadette B. Morris; and a son-in-law, Junius Dore'.
Pallbearers will be Kevin L. Broussard, Albert Broussard, Jr., Phillip P. Broussard, Stephen A. Broussard, Jared P. Dore' and DeJean L. Broussard.
Honorary pallbearers will be Chad Huff, Allan M. Dore', Christopher P. Broussard, Michael A. Broussard, Barrie L. Delcambre, Alicia Dugas, Amy D. Guillory and Brock A. Touchet.
