Alberta Mae Parkhurst Cargile, 83, died peacefully on March 29, 2012, after a courageous battle with renal cell cancer. She was born on January 23, 1929 in Hartsville, Tennessee, to the late Albert Alton (Jack) and Hattie Bailey Parkhurst Harrell. Alberta's family was very important to her. Her husband, Blain Winston Cargile, preceded her in death in 1995. Her sons and daughters-in-law are: Blain and Gail Cargile of Robersonville, Glen and Virginia Cargile of Williamston, and Neal and Kathryn Cargile of Winterville, as well as 7 grandchildren: Blainie Cargile and wife, Jennifer, of Raleigh; Colin Cargile and wife, Carrie, of Apex;...
Alberta Mae Parkhurst Cargile, 83, died peacefully on March 29, 2012, after a courageous battle with renal cell cancer. She was born on January 23, 1929 in Hartsville, Tennessee, to the late Albert Alton (Jack) and Hattie Bailey Parkhurst Harrell.

Alberta's family was very important to her. Her husband, Blain Winston Cargile, preceded her in death in 1995. Her sons and daughters-in-law are: Blain and Gail Cargile of Robersonville, Glen and Virginia Cargile of Williamston, and Neal and Kathryn Cargile of Winterville, as well as 7 grandchildren: Blainie Cargile and wife, Jennifer, of Raleigh; Colin Cargile and wife, Carrie, of Apex; Alayna and Luke Cargile of Winterville; and Mary Claudia Leggett, Abbie and Katie Cargile of Williamston. Alberta also has two great-granddaughters: Maggie Cargile of Raleigh and Eva Cargile of Apex.

As well as her family, Alberta cherished close friends in her small town, and she was a dedicated member and deacon of the First Christian Church of Robersonville and believed in Christ as her Savior. In addition, she loved her town and supported the Robersonville Beautification Committee to make improvements.

Alberta was a long-time employee of Southern Apparel and Hallmark Corporations, both located in Robersonville. After retirement, she enjoyed working at the Robersonville Public Library, and later as a cashier at the Filling Station Restaurant in Robersonville until she become sick.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 31, from 6:30-8:00 PM at Biggs Funeral Home in Robersonville and at the home of Blain and Gail Cargile, 1167 Circle Drive in Robersonville. Her funeral will be on Sunday, April 1, at 2 PM at the First Christian Church in Robersonville, with her burial at Martin Memorial Gardens in Everetts, NC.
