ALEXANDER-Alec J., 91, of Boston's North End, on Wednesday September 21, 2011. Alec was a USMC veteran of WWII and retired Boston Police Officer. Beloved son of the late Alessandro and Ella (Schiavone) Alexander. Loving Husband of Maria (Calitri) Alexander of the North End. Cherished father of Kenneth Alexander of the North End and Vietnam, and Denise Archila and her husband Robert of Braintree. Loving grandfather of Elyse, Danielle, and Adam Archila, all of Braintree. Caring brother of Raymond Alexander of CA, and the late Joseph, Hector, and Richard Alexander. Also survived by many nephews, nieces, and cousins. Funeral from the Boston Harborside Home, 580 Commercial Street Boston MA, on Monday September 26 at 8:45AM, followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Leonard Church on the corner of Hanover and Prince streets at 9:45AM. Family will be accepting visitors from 3PM-8PM on Sunday. Interment is private. Donations may be made in Alec's memory to the New England Shelter for Homeless Veterans, 19 Court Street Boston MA 02108.

Uncle Alec was one of my heroes...one of my fond memories was at the West End House, where I remember him holding court in the locker room with 12 - 14 men listening to him and asking questions. He will surely be missed......
