In Memory of Alex Villarruel
Alex was a husband, father, son, brother and a friend. Many will agree that he was the life of the party because of that cheerful spirit he had. His taste in music, his personality, the generosity and hard work, but most important his heart of gold made him the person he was. Sadly on May 11, 2017, he was taken away from his family and friends. Even though he is no longer present with us; the memories with him will still live on in our hearts.
On Wednesday February 9, 1972, Alex was born to Ramon and Josefina Villarruel. He was the third child following David, Fernando and later on his sister Susie. He grew up in East Los Angeles and that is where he met his wife Beatrice. They were later married on November 7, 1998. Alex and Beatrice had a son that was born on December 1, 2005 and his name is Diego Alejandro Villarruel. Diego is very much like his father and their connection was very special. As a family they would go on trips, loved to have barbeques with their families and friends, and especially to go to the theaters to see movies. For 25 years, he devoted his life being a truck driver. Just a year ago, he found a dog by the name of Chico who became his companion on his trips.
A few of his friends would call him BonBon because of his fluffy looks and others would call him bear because of his long beard. Alex carried a Bear Paw print on his leg to represent him. He was the kind of person that always made you smile even when you were sad or angry. He was always there for anyone that needed a friend. He was so silly- the type of silly that would just brighten up the room. The dedication to his family made him a very good father and husband. Beatrice and Diego were blessed to have had you, and so was everyone else that knew him. You left us too soon, but now you are in a much better place. You left us physically, but your spirit will still remain with us and with those who love you. May you rest in peace Alex. You will be truly missed.
