Obituary

HORWITZ, ALEXANDER, DR. “KNOX”, 97, died Thursday, December 06, 2012 peacefully at his home in Providence, RI.  He was the husband of Patricia (Warrior) Horwitz.  Born in St. Louis, he was a son of the late Alexander Earl and Dora (Prinz) Horwitz.   Dr. Horwitz was a graduate of Washington University and St. Louis Medical School, practicing Psychiatry until retiring in 1988.  He served in the U.S. Army during WWII.  Dr. Horwitz was member of the American Psychiatric Association and was on the Board of Directors and a tireless performer for the Murfreesboro Little Theater.   Besides...


HORWITZ, ALEXANDER, DR. “KNOX”, 97, died Thursday, December 06, 2012 peacefully at his home in Providence, RI.  He was the husband of Patricia (Warrior) Horwitz.  Born in St. Louis, he was a son of the late Alexander Earl and Dora (Prinz) Horwitz.



 



Dr. Horwitz was a graduate of Washington University and St. Louis Medical School, practicing Psychiatry until retiring in 1988.  He served in the U.S. Army during WWII.  Dr. Horwitz was member of the American Psychiatric Association and was on the Board of Directors and a tireless performer for the Murfreesboro Little Theater.



 



Besides his wife, he is survived by his children, Kris Harvey of Santa Rosa, CA, Robin and her husband Michael Stern of Providence, RI and Alexander Earl Horwitz of Salem, OR and granddaughters, Sarah, Lisa and Julia Stern.  He was the brother of the late Ralph Horwitz and Marvin Harwood.



 



In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in his memory to Murfreesboro Little Theater, PO Box 952, Murfreesboro, TN 37133-0952.
