He is also survived by his sister, Helen Dziemian and her husband, Robert; brother, Arthur and his wife, Julia; and brother-in-law, Richard Ferguson. His sister, Alice Ferguson, preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his favorite nephew, Sgt. Robert M. Kaulfers of the New York - New Jersey Port Authority Police Department who was lost on September 11. He is also survived by four nephews and four nieces, all of the New Jersey area.

He served three years in the Army during the Korean Conflict, mostly in Germany, where he was the Battalion Chief CW Radio Operator having obtained the rank of Sergeant. He was the recipient of The Good Conduct Medal. He received his Chartered Property-Casualty Underwriter designation in 1977 and taught the Management part of the CPCU for 15 years at the University of Richmond. He was an annuitant of the Commonwealth of Virginia where he worked as a Program Manager in the Office of Risk Management. Tim greatly enjoyed his family and devoted much of his retirement years caring for his grandchildren. He and Jeannette enjoyed vacationing many weeks in Florida and Maine each year where they spent many happy hours birding.

The family will receive friends at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 22, at Saint Edward the Confessor Catholic Church, 2700 Dolfield Drive, Richmond, with a Mass of Christian Funeral to follow beginning at 2 p.m. A committal service will be held 10 a.m. Monday at the Virginia Veterans Cemetery, 10300 Pridesville Road, Amelia. Jeanette, Mary Beth and I just heard this evening that Tim had passed back in May. We regret not having heard in a timely manner. We recall many fond moments with you folks at the Sophisticats. Also our boys being in scouts together. Mostly I recall the evening Tim brought his pictures and tales of his Army tour in Fulda, Germany - something he and I shared in common. Our deepest sympathies.

MAJ Kaulfers and Family: May God bless you in this special time that is forever changed. We remembered your Dad in a Rosary and Chaplet of Divine Mercy at St. Vincent's Holy Rosary Chapel at the Marin Archdiocese Latin Mass. While i didn't know your Dad directly, I know through his son what a fine man and father he was. I hope you can take comfort that he is among us now in the Community of Saints.
