Born May 21,1927 in Houston, Texas to Jane Mendez and Augustine Soto. Al passed away peacefully on Sept. 10, 2016 in his sleep. He is survived by his spouse; Freddie Jo Soto, his children; Anita (Bob) Dreon; Elaine (Mark) Humberd; Bobbie Soto (Wayne Aanenson); and Jeff Soto Christensen, his sisters Helen Soto and Connie Garcia, and 5 grandchildren: Justin Humberd, Shannon Humberd, Jane Uszner, John Salzman, and Benjamin Dreon; and 3 great grandchildren: Emilee Rose Salzman, Chase Michael Uszner and Brayden Alfred Uszner. Al also leaves behind former spouse Dolores Morales – Enriquez and many nieces and nephews.
Al was a machinist in Santa Clara Valley for over 60 years. He was a US Army Veteran; an avid golfer, a lifelong coach and mentor to many from Westside Little League and Adult Men's Class A Fast Pitch Softball.
Al was past Exalted Ruler of Santa Clara Elks Lodge BPO 2347 and a member for 28 years. A viewing and prayer service will be held at Lima Family Mortuary, 466 No. Winchester Blvd, Santa Clara on Sunday, Sept. 18th at 5:00 – 9:00 PM. A Memorial Mass will be held at Monday, Sept. 19th at 11:00 AM at Queen of Apostles Church, 4911 Moorpark Ave, San Jose, 95129. Internment following immediate after the service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Santa Clara Elks BPOE 2347 – Student Scholarship Fund or the Alzheimer's Association, 2290 North First Street, Ste 101, San Jose, CA 95131.

Dear Freddie-Jo, Jeff and Soto Family,
Thank You for sharing Al with those who Loved him so deeply. He was a Kind, Gentle and Caring to all of us. We will treasure all the Fond Memories he left us with. He was so Special to me. His Beloved Soul will stay with me forever. God has his arms around him now and he is finally at Peace. Love, Dee and Wayne
